The artistic experiences starting within the family and interacting with the environment transform into an aesthetic structure with the education of an individual and this process clearly reveals it importance as an area affecting the entire life. It is a necessity to choose the methods which will contribute to the artistic development and affect the attitude and success of the child in addition to the traditional teaching methods to fully carry out the visual arts education being an integral part of education. The aim of the study is to measure the effect of using waste materials in two-dimensional designs on students' attitudes and success towards the course. Four types of data collection tools are used in the research including attitude scale towards visual arts course, student interview minutes, student observation and success evaluation forms. The research population consists of Şanlıurfa province and the sample is composed of Hacı Abdurrahman Özdemir Secondary School students. In conclusion, it could be noted that the use of waste materials in visual arts course activities positively contributes to the students' attitudes towards the course.
