İNNOVATİVENES AND İNNOVATİON İN CONTEMPORARY ART


Today, the concepts of innovation and innovativeness are mostly used by non-art organizations (science fields, economy and business circles, etc.) within the scope of the term "innovation". However, the art field acting in the historical process, did not hesitate to cooperate with these concepts in different parameters of the mentioned process. Here, the "situation" of the concepts of innovation and innovativeness, which is known to exist in the field of art but subject to partial evaluations in the studies of the literature, is examined.

This study is about the determinants of innovation in artistic sense. First, in the creative process, the meaning of form and content in artistic innovation in the context of artist, art work, receptive (audience) and external reality, and in the second stage, by reviewing the literature on the organizational determinants of artistic innovation, gaps were tried to be identified. Especially, considering that current research mostly focuses on macro-environmental factors, although each of the art components with the context of innovation and innovation have been handled in different parameters of the historical process, it can be mentioned that the roles of the artists in this scope in the system tend to be ignored.

For this reason, based on the literature on innovation and innovativeness, the framework of organizational factors in the art medium and the concepts seen in contemporary art works has been formed. Later, the meaning of the concept of "innovation / innovation" in contemporary art works referring to the Modern and Postmodern Periods has been tried to be revealed with epistemological (knowledge) and methodological (method) approaches. Therefore, it is hoped that considering the perspective that both the term "innovation" in modernism and the conceptual term "innovation / innovation" associated with postmodernism present to art works in the context of form and content, in a comprehensive framework, will contribute to the field of contemporary art.
