DESIGNING EXPERIENCE IN NEW MEDIA ART

This research aims to examine digital art productions that create an interactive experience environment that includes the audience in galleries, museums, and public spaces. With the internet that spread rapidly in the 90s after photography, cinema, and television, the means of production owned by artists have expanded day by day. The artist's exhibitions that witnessed the evolution of digital history have undergone a conceptual and formal transformation.

The artist has created a field of experience for the audience with images made up of digital data, and the art audience has now become active from a passive position. Thus, today's art broke the meaning chain of the art object produced for a particular social class. It turned into a holistic and comprehensive form that points out a broader context and complements the work of art with its experience. All these processes in which the art object transforms from an autonomous system to a more independent structure indicate the possibilities provided by the new media.

Today's artists have provided originality that includes the audience with alternative production ways by using technology. Refik Anadol, Alper Derinboğaz, Candaş Şişman, Bruce Nauman, the Augmented Istanbul project, and Rafael Lozano-Hemmer's works were included in this study, which exemplifies the creative art practices of new media.
