In Art Education Class As in the Seventies Making Pictures of Still Important Days and Weeks

Painting lessons taught in primary schools in our country since the 1970s have always been dealt with superficially in terms of subject matter. This practice has continued until today with a boring and stereotypical curriculum, in which only important days and weeks are discussed (for example, the same subjects have been made for years, such as making pictures about the primary school week in the week the schools are opened), far from revealing the imagination and creative thinking of the child. This and similar understanding of art education, which was put forward in the past years, could not go beyond imitation, and most importantly, the student was not even freed in material selection and has been brought up to this day with an understanding of art that is far from creativity. However, art education, which is handled in order to contribute to child development with different materials to be used from now on and with methods suitable for the age and developmental stages of the child, has a feature that will yield much greater results than expectations in the communication age where technological and scientific developments are at an extreme level. Art education, which is reconsidered and implemented by the authorities in this context, without delay, makes positive contributions to the emotional, spiritual, imaginative and creative development of the child. In parallel with this, due to the development of self-will based on reason and intelligence, it gives the child the ability to use their right of choice more freely, more consciously and more accurately.
