The Analysis Of Fourteen Hicâz Work Composed By Sâdeddin Kaynak

Among the other composers Sâdeddin Kaynak is one of the most outstanding one who can lay a bridge from past to present. He composed song formed works. In order to captivate the society, he produced his works with his innovative soul in language, form and melody. He was always a defender of a very clear and pure Turkish. With his understanding the importance of instruments developed a new identity, recovered from disappearance due to the sound factor and gained an equal character. Although not performing a musical instrument the instrumental parts of Kaynak’s melodies are strongly clear and they have original introduction and connection parts. The composer’s signature is so clear in the works that just by listening to the short instrumental passages between the verses one can easily say that they belong to Sâdeddin Kaynak. In his compositions the mode is rich with routes, tempo changes, rhythm and beat changes and they are unbelievably beautiful. None of the composers from past to present could have been able to function in such wide range of areas as Kaynak did. Kaynak’s sophisticated side also manifests itself in here. In this study the total field under survey is Sâdeddin Kaynak’s 57 Hicaz works and 14 of them are subjected as random samples. Field experts’ opinions are grounded on in the selection of these 14 works. The random works having rich tempo routes, showing mode changes and popular ones are used during selection. The reason of limiting the study with 14 works is making a detailed search in terms of more than one varieties such as mode, tempo, form and lyrics.
