Resim sanatı geçen yüzyıl boyunca estetik deneyim açısından mesafeli bir tutumu tercih etmiştir. Bu sürecin bir yanında modernist resim diğer tarafında ise çağdaş resim sanatı bulunmaktadır. Modernist resim yabancılaştırıcı, şoke edici, sarsıcı bir estetizmi önemsemiştir. Resimler ifadeci, soyut ve gerçeküstücü anlatım önemli olmuştur. Güzellik ise modernist resmin amacı olmaktan çıkmıştır. Modernist resmin estetiği güzellikten çok temsil edilemeyeni gösteren yabancı dünyaları izleyen yaklaştıran bir tavır sergilemiştir. Çağdaş kültürde resim sanatı güzellik konusunda geri dönüş denilebilecek bir tutum sergilemiştir. Ancak güzellik, klasik ve akademik resmin sınırları içinde kalan bir görünüm sergilemektedir. Güzelliğin bu özelliği nedeniyle çağdaş resim pop sanat ve onun etkilerinin olduğu sanatçıların güzellik anlayışı geçmişin güzellik düşüncesinin alıntılamak olmuştur. Bu çalışma bu süreci değişimleri ve örnekleriyle anlatma amacındadır. Çalışma kavramsal ve sanat tarihsel açıdan konuyu ele almaktadır. Vardığı sonuçlar; güzelliğin değerlerini yitirmiş bir gösteriye dönüşmüş olduğudur. Resmin güzellik konusunda önceki kuralları izlemesi gerekeceğidir. Ancak bu kiç, alıntılama, parodi, pastiş gibi özellikler gösteren bir resim olmak zorundadır.
Painting has preferred a distant attitude in terms of aesthetic experience throughout the last century. On one side of this process there is modernist painting and on the other side there is contemporary painting. Modernist painting gave an alienating and shocking aestheticism. Paintings of expressionist, abstract and surrealist have been important. Beauty has ceased to be the aim of modernist painting. The aesthetics of modernist painting exhibited an approach that viewed foreign worlds, showing what could not be represented rather than beauty. In contemporary culture, painting has exhibited an attitude that can be called a return to beauty. However, beauty displays an appearance that remains within the boundaries of classical and academic painting. Because of this feature of beauty, the understanding of beauty of contemporary painting, pop art and the artists who are influenced by it has been to quote the idea of beauty of the past. This study aims to explain this process with its changes and examples. The study addresses the subject from a conceptual and art historical perspective. The point is that beauty has become a spectacle that has lost its values. It is that the picture will have to follow the previous rules regarding beauty. However, this must be a picture that displays features such as kitsch, appropriation, parody and pastiche.
