ASSESSMENT OF THE QUALİTY OF EDUCATİON RECEİVED BY MUSİC TEACHER CANDİDATES WİTH “MUSİC TEACHER CANDİDATES SATİSFACTİON LEVEL SCALE


The aim of this research is to determine the satisfaction levels of the music teacher candidates who study at the Faculty of Education, Music Teaching Departments with the "Music Teacher Candidates Satisfaction Level Scale" "MTCSLS" developed by the researcher. The study group of the research consists of pre-service teachers who study in the final grades of the Music Teaching Departments of the universities determined in the sample group of the research. "MTCSLS" factor analysis, validity-reliability studies and pilot applications were done and the scale was made ready for use for the final application. The scale prepared for the final application was applied to 309 pre-service teachers studying in the final grades of the Music Teaching Departments of 11 universities in the fall semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. Analysis of the data in accordance with the pre-application data collected from the scale; descriptive statistics are presented with frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation values. According to the results of statistics revealing the opinions of music teacher candidates about their satisfaction levels; Satisfaction in “Academic Staff and Consultancy” dimension is medium level (X = 2.73), their satisfaction in “Education and Training” dimension is below medium level (X = 2.56), their satisfaction in “Management and Organization” dimension is below medium level (X = 2.33), “Physical Conditions ”Satisfaction is below the medium level (X = 2.32). In line with these findings, the research aims to make suggestions in the context of increasing the quality of education received by making determinations about the current status of the education received by music teacher candidates.
