I. Dünya Savaşı sonrası, ekonomik koşulların kötüye gitmesi sonucunda Almanya’da sanat ve tasarım okulu olarak kurulan Bauhaus Okulu kuruluşundan günümüze dek sanatın her alanının rotası üzerinde belirleyici etkilere sahiptir. Bauhaus Okulu’nun tarihçesi ve eğitim anlayışının incelenmesi sonucunda, dönemsel koşulların toplumun sanat ve tasarımdan beklentileri üzerindeki  etkileri  net bir biçimde görülebilmektedir. İşlevselliği ve işlevsellik üzerine kurulu bir yaratıcılığı merkezinde tutmuş olan Bauhaus Okulu; sanat ve tasarım alanlarında bir ekolü temsil etmektedir. 1955 yılında kurulan Devlet Tatbiki Güzel Sanatlar Yüksekokulu, bu ekolün Türkiye’deki ilk yansımasıdır. Günümüzde Marmara Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar Fakültesi olarak eğitime devam eden kurum, bünyesindeki tüm bölümlerde ve eğitimin her aşamasında Bauhaus Ekolü’nü temsil etmektedir. Tüm sanat alanlarında etkileri gözlemlenen ekolün temel amaçları çerçevesinde grafik tasarım alanı ile ilişkilendirilmesi ve bu alana yansımalarının ortaya konması bu çalışmanın temel amacıdır. Ekolün Türkiye’deki ilk uzantısı olan kurumun yüksekokul olarak kurulması ve fakülteye dönüşme süreci, yüksekokul ve fakülte eğitimindeki ortak noktaların görülebilmesi ile yüksekokul algısının gelişmesi açısından önem taşımaktadır. Bauhaus Ekolü bu doğrultuda; “Bauhaus Sanat ve Tasarım Okulu” ve “Devlet Tatbiki Güzel Sanatlar Yüksekokulu” olarak ayrı başlıklar altında incelenmiştir. Bu başlıklar altında elde edilen verilerle “Bauhaus Ekolü ve Grafik Tasarım İlişkisi” başlığı altında, grafik tasarım alanına ve eğitimine katkılarına değinilmiş, sonuç kısmında ise Bauhaus Ekolü’nün grafik tasarım alanına yansımaları tüm yönleriyle belirtilmiştir. 

Bauhaus School, which was established as an art and design school in Germany as a result of the deterioration of economic conditions after World War I, has decisive effects on the course of every field of art since its establishment. As a result of the examination of the history and education understanding of the Bauhaus School, the effects of periodic conditions on society's expectations from art and design can be clearly seen. Bauhaus School, which has kept a creativity based on functionality and functionality at its center; it represents a school in the fields of art and design. Founded in 1955, State School of Applied Fine Arts was the first reflection of this ecole in Turkey. The institution, which continues its education as Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts today, represents the Bauhaus School in all departments and at every stage of education. The main purpose of this study is to relate the ecole, whose effects are observed in all fields of art, with the graphic design field within the framework of its main objectives and to reveal its reflections in this field. The establishment of tertiary institutions in Turkey, the first extension of the school's faculty and conversion process, and can be seen in common with college education in schools is important for the development of higher perception. Bauhaus Ecole in this direction; "Bauhaus Art and Design School" has been examined under separate titles as "State School of Applied Fine Arts”. With the data obtained under these headings, under the heading "Bauhaus Ecole and Graphic Design Relationship", their contributions to the field of graphic design and education are mentioned, and in the conclusion part, the reflections of the Bauhaus Ecole in the field of graphic design are specified in all aspects.
