Bu metinde kültür ve sanat bağlamında arının tarihteki yeri araştırılmıştır. Prehistorik çağdan günümüze kadar arı ürünleri insanlık yararına kullanılmıştır. İlahi bir tat olarak seçilen bal şifa niyetine tüketilmiştir. Araştırmada insanlığın varoluşundan günümüze kadar arının hangi boyutlarda ele alındığı ve hangi nedenlerle sanatta yer bulduğu incelenmiştir. Bilim ve sanat dallarında araştırma konusu olarak seçilen arı, bu çalışmada da sanatçılara ve eserlerine nasıl ilham kaynağı olduğu değerlendirilmiştir. Koloni halinde yaşamalarıyla, dengenin ve uyumun sembolü haline gelen arılar, anaerkil toplum yapılarıyla berekete ve mucizeye işaret etmektedir. Arılar anaerkil yapıları nedeniyle birçok toplumda tanrıça idolü olarak seçilmiştir. Bir arada yaşama ve düzeni nasıl koruyacağını çok iyi bilen arılar, insan neslinin yaşam biçimine de örnek teşkil etmiştir. Arıların yaşam biçimindeki ahenk her dönem dikkat çekici ve büyüleyici bulunmuş ve sanatçılar tarafından eserlerine konu edilmiştir. Aynı zamanda arıların ürettiği malzemeler gerek tıpta gerekse sanatta işlenen diğer bir konu olmuştur. Bu çalışmada kanatlı böceklerden “Arı” formu ve yaşam biçimi merkeze alınmış ve sanatsal dil oluşumuna katkısı da değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma nitel yaklaşım temelinde içerik analizi yöntemiyle yürütülmüş olup arının sanattaki kavramsal ve plastik bir unsur olarak sunum şekilleri incelenmiştir. Bu açıdan araştırmada sanatta arı formunun kullanımı tarihsel periyoda uyularak verilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda dünyanın birçok bölgesinde arının bir hürmet sembolü olarak ele alındığı; birlikte yaşama, devamlılık, yenilenme, ölümden sonraki hayatla bağ kurma, şifa ve sihirle bağlantılı anlamlarda sanat eserlerinde yer bulduğu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlardan hareketle alan araştırmacılarına arının spesifik anlamlarda kullanımıyla ilgili farklı çalışmalar yapabilecekleri önerilebilir.

In this text, the place of the bee in history in the context of culture and art has been researched. Bee products have been used for the benefit of humanity since the prehistoric age. Honey, which was chosen as a divine taste, was consumed for healing purposes. In the research, it has been examined in which dimensions the bee has been handled from the existence of humanity to the present day and for what reasons it has found a place in art. The bee, which was chosen as a research subject in science and art branches, was evaluated in this study as a source of inspiration for artists and their works. Bees, which have become the symbol of balance and harmony with their colony living, point to fertility and miracles with their matriarchal social structures. Because of their matriarchal nature, bees have been chosen as goddess idols in many societies. Knowing very well how to live together and maintain order, bees set an example for the way of life of the human generation. The harmony in the lifestyle of bees has been found remarkable and fascinating in every period and has been the subject of their works by artists. At the same time, the materials produced by bees have been another subject that has been studied both in medicine and in art. In this study, the "Bee" form and life style of winged insects were taken into the center and its contribution to the formation of artistic language was evaluated. The research was carried out with the content analysis method on the basis of a qualitative approach, and the presentation of the bee as a conceptual and plastic element in art was examined. In this respect, the use of the bee form in art is given in accordance with the historical period in the research. As a result of the research, it was determined that the bee was considered as a symbol of respect in many parts of the world; It has been determined that the meanings related to living together, continuity, renewal, bonding with life after death, healing and magic are found in works of art. Based on the results obtained, it can be suggested to field researchers that they can conduct different studies on the use of bees in specific meanings.
