Halk Türkülerinin geçmişten günümüze halk tarihine ışık tutan bir etken olduğu düşünülmektedir. Halk türküleri gerek ezgisel gerek söz yapılarına bakıldığında bölge halkının geçmişi kültürel özellikleri hakkında bizlere ışık tutabilmektedir. Halk Türküleri toplumsal olayları konu alması, toplum kültürünün aynası olması düşüncesiyle sahip çıkılması gereken bir miras olarak ta görülebilir. Bu miras ilerleyen yıllarda gelecek nesile toplum kültürü açısından yardımcı olacak ve toplum kültürünün yıllarca kaybolmamasını sağlayacaktır. Bu bağlamda farklı bölgelerdeki toplumların halk türküleri incelendiğinde aralarındaki fark ya da benzerliklerin görülebileceği bu durumunda o toplumlar hakkında geniş bir bilgi ağına sahip olabileceğimizi gösterebilir. Buradan hareketle ülkemizin iki güzide ili olan Şanlıurfa ve Van illerinin halk ezgilerinin araştırılması bu düşünceye örnek olabilecektir. Bu bağlamda iki ilin halk ezgileri incelenmiş ve bu ezgilere ezgisel anlamda müzikal analiz yapılmıştır. Ezgiler 2022 TRT Türk Halk Müziği Repertuarından elde edilmiştir. Bu bağlamda 153 Halk Ezgisine analiz yapılmıştır. Bu analiz çerçevesinde ezgilerin makamsal ve ritmik yapılarına bakılmış ve iki il arasındaki karşılaştırma ile sonuca ulaşılmıştır. Bu kapsamda elde edilen sonuçların iki ilin kültüründeki benzerliklere ve yeni araştırmalara ışık tutacağı düşünülmektedir.
Folk songs are thought to be a factor that sheds light on folk history from past to present. Folk songs can shed light on the past and cultural characteristics of the people of the region when we look at both their melodic and verbal structures. Folk songs can also be seen as a heritage that should be embraced with the idea that they are the subject of social events and that they are the mirror of the culture of the society. This heritage will help the next generation in terms of community culture in the coming years and will ensure that the culture of the community is not lost for years. In this context, when the folk songs of societies in different regions are examined, the differences or similarities between them can be seen, which may show that we can have a wide information network about those societies. From this point of view, researching the folk melodies of Şanlıurfa and Van, which are two prominent cities of our country, can be an example of this idea. In this context, the folk melodies of the two cities were examined and a musical analysis of these melodies was made. The tunes were obtained from the 2022 TRT Turkish Folk Music Repertoire. In this context, 153 Folk Songs were analyzed. Within the framework of this analysis, the modal and rhythmic structures of the melodies were examined and the result was reached with the comparison between the two provinces. It is thought that the results obtained in this context will shed light on the similarities in the cultures of the two provinces and new researches.
