Şiddet, geçmişten günümüze sürekli olarak değişim göstermektedir. Başlangıçta herhangi bir canlıya fiziki olarak zarar verme anlamında düşünülen şiddet kavramı, günümüzde çok çeşitli boyutlara taşınmış durumdadır. Bu araştırmada da; dünyada ve ülkemizde gittikçe artan şiddet teması üzerine sanat ve sanat eğitimi kapsamında yazılmış tezleri; konu, araştırma yöntemi ve anahtar kelimeler göz önünde bulundurarak bir tasnif yapmak amaçlanmıştır. Hassas dinamiklere sahip sanatsal literatürün şiddeti nasıl ele aldığı önem taşımaktadır. Bu kapsamda sanatta yeterlik ve doktora tezleri kaynak olarak düşünülmüştür. Böylece Ulusal Tez Merkezinde yayınlanmış 18 teze ulaşılarak bu tezler incelemeye tabi tutulmuştur. Araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum deseni (Case study) kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen dokümanlar bibliyometrik analiz teknikleri ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucuna göre; sanatta yeterlik tezleri doktora tezlerine oranla şiddet temasını daha fazla çalışmıştır. Bu kapsamda sırasıyla; resim, sinema, sanat-tasarım, iletişim ve heykel alanları yayın sayısı en fazla olanlar olarak sonuçlar arasında yer almıştır. Tezlerde, toplumun kanayan yaraları olan; namus cinayetleri, kadına şiddet gibi konular, sanatta şiddet-suç ya da şiddetin estetize halleri üzerinden yansıtılmıştır. Tezler, hem sanatta yeterlilik hem de doktora alanlarında bir tez hariç tamamen nitel yöntem üzerinden yürütülmüştür. Tezlerin hem ulusal konuları hem de uluslararası konuları konu edinme durumu göz önünde bulundurulduğunda, anahtar kelimelerde nelerin geçtiği önemli görülmektedir. Şiddet, sinema, erk, resimler, feminist ideoloji, beden, sanat, sanatçı fail ve estetik kelimeleri en sık kullanılan anahtar kelimeler olarak sonuçlar arasında yer almıştır. Ayrıca makaleleri inceleme yoluyla bu araştırmanın genişletilmesi, farklı ülkeler bazında karşılaştırmalı olarak aynı çalışmayı tekrar ele alma ve ulusal anlamda tez yürütücülerinin toplumda etki oluşturabilecek temalar üzerinden araştırma oluşturmaları da araştırmanın önerileri arasında yer almıştır.

Violence has been constantly changing from past to present. The concept of violence, which was initially thought in the sense of physically harming any living creature, has been carried to various dimensions today. In this study, it is aimed to classify the theses written within the scope of art and art education on the theme of violence, which is increasing in the world and in our country, by considering the subject, research method and keywords. It is important how the artistic literature with sensitive dynamics handles violence. In this context, proficiency in art and doctoral theses were considered as sources. Thus, 18 theses published in the National Thesis Centre were reached and these theses were subjected to examination. Case study, one of the qualitative research designs, was used in the study. The documents obtained were analysed with bibliometric analysis techniques. According to the results of the research; proficiency in art theses studied the theme of violence more than doctoral theses. In this context, the fields of painting, cinema, art-design, communication and sculpture were among the results with the highest number of publications. In the theses, issues such as honour killings and violence against women, which are the bleeding wounds of the society, are reflected through violence-crime in art or aestheticised forms of violence. The theses were conducted entirely through qualitative method except for one thesis both in the fields of proficiency in art and doctorate. Considering the fact that the theses deal with both national and international issues, it is important what is mentioned in the keywords.  Violence, cinema, power, paintings, feminist ideology, body, art, artist agency and aesthetics were among the most frequently used keywords. In addition, expanding this research by analyzing the articles, revisiting the same study comparatively on the basis of different countries, and creating research on themes that can have an impact on the society by thesis coordinators nationally were also among the recommendations of the research.
