Writing and Publication Principles

PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES

GENERAL PRINCIPLES

  1. The Journal of International Art and Art Education (JIA Journal) is an international peer-reviewed journal published three times a year. Special or supplementary issues may also be published when necessary.

  2. The Journal of International Art and Art Education is a journal that publishes articles from all fields of sciences related to art.

  3. Articles submitted to The Journal of International Art and Art Education must not have been previously published in any medium and must not be under evaluation for publication by another outlet at the time of submission to our system.

  4. Those wishing to submit an article for publication in The Journal of International Art and Art Education must send their articles by registering as a user in the Article Tracking System at www.jiajournal.com.

  5. For articles accepted for publication, the name used in the membership will be added to the author section. Therefore, authors must register in the Article Tracking System with the name they use in their academic activities.

  6. Uploading an article to the electronic system of The Journal of International Art and Art Education is considered an application for publication, and the article evaluation process begins.

  7. All processes, from the application stage to the publication of the article, take place electronically.

  8. By submitting an article to The Journal of International Art and Art Education for publication, the printing and publishing rights of the article are transferred to the journal. These articles cannot be published in another publication, reproduced, or used without citation without permission from the journal management. JIA Journal may publish the texts it has published on various platforms.

  9. Any potential legal, judicial, economic, and ethical responsibility arising from articles submitted to The Journal of International Art and Art Education belongs to the author(s), even if the article is published. The journal does not accept any liability.

  10. The publication language of The Journal of International Art and Art Education is Turkish; however, articles in English, German, French, Russian, Arabic, Persian, etc., are also evaluated and published if deemed suitable by the referees.

EVALUATION PROCESS

  1. After an article is uploaded to the JIA Journal system and passes editorial control, it is sent to a 3-member evaluation committee to initiate the peer-review process. Submitted articles must not contain any information revealing the author's identity. Author information for articles deemed suitable for publication after the peer-review process will be added by the editors during the publication stage.

  2. Every article uploaded to the JIA Journal system is first evaluated by the editor or associate editors for compliance with the writing and publication principles. If corrections are required from the author based on this evaluation, the article is returned to the author with a request for revision from the editors.

  3. Articles that do not comply with the writing principles are not sent to referees.

  4. Articles deemed suitable for evaluation in terms of writing and publication principles are directed to referees. At least two referees are appointed for the evaluation of each article that passes editorial approval. Referees are selected from among individuals with expertise in the field and department represented by the article.

  5. The names of referees and authors are kept confidential from each other (double-blind peer review).

  6. The maximum evaluation period for referees is 20 days. If a report is not submitted for an article after this period, a new referee is assigned.

  7. An article that receives two positive referee reports qualifies for publication. An article receiving one positive and one negative report is sent to a third referee, and the decision to publish or not is determined based on the third referee's report.

  8. Referees may request to see a revised version of an article they requested corrections for before publication. If this request is stated in the report, the corrected version of the text is automatically sent to the referee by the system.

  9. Authors may object to a referee report within a reasonable framework and with convincing data. Objections are reviewed by the journal management, and if deemed appropriate, the opinion of a different referee (or referees) may be sought on the matter.

  10. Authors can track the evaluation stage of their articles in the JIA Journal electronic system using their login information. The peer-review process should be monitored carefully. Since the system allows for only one revision opportunity, authors should wait for both referee evaluations to be completed and reports to be entered into the system before making any potential changes.

  11. The journal editors meticulously follow the corrections requested by the referees. Accordingly, editors may decide to publish or not publish an article.

  12. Fees, design, promotion in international indexes, and purchase of DOI numbers for articles to be published in the journal are carried out by Asos Eğitim Bilişim Danışmanlık Hiz. San. Tic. Ltd. Şti.
